Worldschool Hub Sweden

From 19 July to 2 August 2025, we host a worldschool hub in Bro, Sweden.
In a rural area right next to Lake Mälaren, the third-largest freshwater lake in Sweden, surrounded by beautiful nature but yet still close to capital Stockholm with all it’s culture and history.
We keep the schedule light, with planned activities on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. That way, there’s lots of time on the other days to relax, explore the area, or enjoy spontaneous play, which is often the most valuable part of a hub. The campsite is right next to a small beach at Lake Mälaren, where kids and teens love to meet and play at the obstacle course and diving tower.
The activities take place on or around the holiday park and include potluck meals, creative workshops, sharing circles and more. As an extra weekend activity, we’ll be visiting one of the country’s coolest theme parks – Gröna Lund.
We keep things simple and relaxed, and there’s always something fun or meaningful to join if you’re up for it.
You can come with your own camping gear (camper, caravan, tent). Unfortunately there are no accommodations onsite. There’s a camper van rental from Roadsurfer quite close to the airport.
The participation fee is €110 per week, per family – regardless of family size. This fee includes all activities offered by us at the campsite, but does not cover the cost of excursions (like Gröna Lund) or your campsite fee.

Meet the Team
Born from a shared love for worldschooling, community, and meaningful connection, Mirjam and Susanne started The Exploring Families in 2022 to bring like-minded families together. Since then, the hubs have grown into warm and playful gatherings across Europe, where like-minded families come together to play, connect, and create lasting memories.
Some hubs are hosted by Mirjam, others we co-host – always with the same focus on warmth, creativity, and a welcoming atmosphere where every family feels at home. The hub in Sweden is hosted by Mirjam.
Venue Details
The hub is set at Björknäs Camping, a peaceful lakeside campsite in Bro, Sweden. The campsite offers spacious pitches, and its surroundings invite you to explore and play. There’s a small kiosk on site, where you can borrow water toys. By the lake, there are diving boards, picnic tables, and a fire pit. There’s even a floating obstacle course. From here, you can hike beautiful trails.
The lake will entertain all ages. The shallow water with a sandy bottom is perfect for younger children, while more advanced swimmers can hop in the water from the swimming docks and diving tower. You can also rent kayaks to explore the lake from the water.
Although peaceful and beautifully situated, the campsite is also not far from Stockholm. There’s a bus stop right at the entrance of the campsite, which connects to a train, bringing you to Stockholm in an hour.
