Samana International Academy
Samana International Academy (SIA) is a nature-based, project-focused learning hub located on a 16,000 m² farm in the Dominican Republic. Designed for both local and traveling families, SIA offers small class sizes (up to 12 students per level), open-air classrooms, and a U.S.-based curriculum enhanced with STEAM education and multilingual learning. Students can attend in person or continue remotely while traveling.
The 2025–2026 school year runs from August 13, 2025, to May 28, 2026. After-school care is available until 5:00 PM. Additional programs like clubs, tutoring, and field trips are available for an extra fee. Remote learning is supported for traveling families, provided assignments are submitted and tuition remains current.

Sibling discounts range from $50–$100/month depending on number of siblings. A 15% discount is available for full-year tuition paid by July 15.
Registration is required to secure a seat and is non-refundable. All students take placement tests in English Language Arts and Math prior to enrollment.

SIA was founded by Emily Ryan and her family, who transitioned from a fast-paced life in the U.S. to create a community-focused educational hub in the Dominican Republic. The school is dedicated to high-quality, nature-based education, employing teachers who specialize in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and STEAM education.
Venue Details
SIA is located on a secure, gated farm in Juana Vicenta, between Samaná and Las Terrenas. The open-air classrooms and outdoor learning spaces provide students with an engaging farm-to-classroom experience. The property includes 30+ fruit and vegetable varieties, two natural springs, and panoramic views of Samaná Bay and Cayo Levantado.

What's Included
Tuition includes full academic instruction, personalized lesson plans, and hands-on learning experiences. Students receive weekly lesson plans for remote learning, access to small class sizes (12:1 student-teacher ratio), and a structured daily schedule that incorporates outdoor play, project-based learning, and STEAM enrichment activities.
