The Agile Roots Program offers a unique opportunity for families to experience immersive learning, ancestral traditions, and community-building in the small Mayan village of Ek Balam. Co-created by the Anahata Worldschooling Community and EduCambiando, this 22-day program blends agile learning techniques with cultural exploration and service projects. Program dates are February 16 – March 9, 2025.

Participants will connect with local Mayan traditions while contributing to a community initiative: the construction of an agile learning center for local families. The program incorporates practices from the Mayan, Wixarika, and Tepehuano (O’dam) cultures, providing families with a deep understanding of ancestral wisdom, sustainability, and community values.

Key activities include:

The Agile Roots Program is a collaboration between the Anahata Worldschooling Community and EduCambiando, bringing together a team of dedicated facilitators passionate about agile learning, cultural exchange, and community-building.

Anahata Worldschooling Community – Known for fostering family-centered co-living experiences and meaningful connections, the Anahata team focuses on creating deep, compassionate communities built around shared values of learning, depth, and fulfillment.

EduCambiando – A grassroots organization devoted to agile learning methodologies and empowering communities through education and service.

The program also collaborates with local leaders and artisans from the Mayan, Wixarika, and Tepehuano (O’dam) traditions, ensuring an authentic and respectful approach to cultural immersion and ancestral practices.

Venue Details
