Meet the Team
The hub is hosted by Kate and Ben Carlson, a worldschooling family with three young boys. They’ve been traveling full-time since 2023, balancing their passion for exploring new cultures with their commitment to fostering meaningful connections among worldschoolers.
With a home base in Kauai and extensive knowledge of the island’s landscapes and culture, Kate and Ben bring local expertise and a genuine love for the area. Their goal is to create a welcoming, family-friendly environment where participants can learn, share, and grow.
Venue Details
The hub’s central activities will take place on Kauai’s North Shore, with most events in the areas of Kilauea, Princeville, and Hanalei. For those seeking accommodations, options range from hotels and vacation rentals to camping at Anini Beach Park.
The host family will stay near Kilauea, making it a convenient location for participants. Activities on the South and West sides of the island may require a day trip or an optional overnight stay. Poipu and Koloa offer lodging options for these trips, while adventurous families can opt for camping at Polihale State Park.
A rental car is strongly recommended due to the island’s limited public transportation and the spread-out nature of activities.
